7th Annual Risk Management and Community Outreach Conference

"Revitalizing Communities through Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Agriculture"

EMBASY SUITES HOTEL, 800 MONROE STREET, HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA, NOVEMBER 18-20, 2009.

The annual conference will kick-off on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 with an Farm Field Day. The Field Day schedule will be announced soon. Conference presentations will begin Thursday morning and conclude Friday afternoon, November 20, 2009. The conference will cover a wide range of issues including, but not limited to estate planning, the 2008 Farm Bill, alternative enterprises, sustainable agriculture, business planning, financial management, record keeping, agricultural marketing opportunities, farmers marketing, value-added agriculture, organic production, rural business development, entrepreneurship, cooperative development, urban agriculture, crop insurance, risk and risk management strategies, women-in-agriculture, panel discussion on livestock and fruits and vegetables.

Requesting Exhibits/Displays

We are currently soliciting posters, exhibits and/or displays from interested parties who want to share their information about their organizations, businesses, agribusinesses, or institutions and their work with underserved farmers, ranchers and rural entrepreneurs. Table space will be provided for the displays and posters. If interested in presenting a poster or an exhibit, please indicate so on the registration form included with this announcement.

Registration Begins Now!!!

A limited number of scholarship is avaliable for producers, entrepreneurs, and extension agents, so register as soon as possible. Registration is free for all Alabamaina. A $100 registration is required for out-of-state participants to cover meals, hotel, and conference material.
